Inside close to deep red (53A), throat close to deep red (53A) on a yellowish ground; outside deep red (185A) on a yellowish ground, edged deep red (185A), midveins strong yellow-green (144C) at base and apex and fading into petal; nectaries strong yellowish pink (31C) hairy; dark red (187A) spots on basal part of each petal and with papillae in the throat; pollen strong brown (172A); stigma moderate reddish orange/brownish orange (171A/B). Fls 160 mm wide; petals 90-100 x 35-50 mm, margins slightly ruffled, tips slightly recurved. Lvs alternate, 170 x 20 mm. Stems 0.9 m, light green, with c3 fls, from hairy buds. June. |
