Inside of tepals greenish white (155C); top third of tepal strong purplish red (71B); midveins pale yellow (160D); throat light olive (152B). Outside of tepals moderate purplish pink (186D), midribs 159D. Spots small, numerous, strong purplish red (71B) over a 155C background, becoming densely distributed in upper half to third of tepal, occasionally larger spots with a 155C halo; papillae absent; nectaries open, dark greenish yellow (152C), ridges frosted; filament deep greenish yellow (153A), anthers light yellowish pink (159A), pollen orange-brown; stigma dark purplish pink (186C). Fls 70 mm wide, single, strongly scented; tepals 30 × 14 mm, margins smooth, tips strongly recurved. Lvs 100 × 28 mm, whorled, moderate yellowish green (146B). Stems 1 m (outdoors), moderate yellowish green (146C), with up to 25 fls (average 18). May-June. Hardy. |
