Inside of tepals strong orange (24A), inner tepals with pale orange-yellow (24D) streak at tip; throat strong orange (24A). Outside of tepals strong orange (24A), occasionally pale orange-yellow (24D) at base and along midrib, midribs yellow-green. Spots greyish red (178A), in basal third to half and in centre of blade, broken line of close spotting on margin edge of inner tepal (‘picotee’); papillae few to absent, strong orange (24A) with greyish red (178A) tips; nectaries greenish orange, semi-open to closed; stigma orange. Fls 135 mm wide, double, not scented; tepals 75 × 35 mm, margins smooth, tips not recurved. Lvs 90 × 22 mm, scattered, moderate yellow-green (137C), with long hairs. Stems 1.3 m (under glass). Strong yellow-green (143C), with up to 8 fls. (average 6 fls). May-June. Hardiness strong. |
