Inside of tepals light yellowish pink (27A); throat light yellowish pink (27A) but densely speckled deep red (185A). Outside of tepals light yellowish pink (27A); midribs dark reddish orange (178B) flushed green at tip. Tepal ridges around top of throat dark red (187A) to dark purplish grey (N187A). Numerous small deep red (185A) spots and speckles across basal third to half and into margins, coalescing to form patches of dark colouration (“tango” pattern) especially in the centre of each tepal around the top of the nectary furrow; light stippling extending distally in margin edges almost to tip; distal half to two-thirds and tip spot free. Papillae absent; nectaries light yellowish pink (27A), semi-open, ridges frosted dark yellowish pink (181D); filaments light yellowish pink (29C), pollen strong reddish orange (169A); stigma moderate red (181A). Fls 186 mm wide, single, not scented; tepals 101 × 55 mm, margins smooth, tips slightly recurved. Lvs 123 × 26 mm, scattered, moderate yellowish green (138A). Stems 1.17 m, strong yellow-green (144A), with up to 6 fls. (average 5 fls). May-June. Strong hardiness. |
